Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Winter Nurse Extern for Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, PA. This part-time externship offers 48 paid clinical hours during winter break with a 1:1 RN preceptor and varied shifts aligned with the preceptor.

Open to senior nursing students graduating Spring 2027, online transcript and a professor's letter of recommendation are required. Limited opportunities exist in Med/Surg/Tele, ICU, and Short Stay units.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and enrollment in a nursing program.
• Current enrollment in an approved Nursing program with completion of two clinical semesters.
• Must have completed at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation.
• Must provide unofficial transcript and letter of recommendation from nursing professor.

Responsibilities

• Provides information needed by the registered nurse to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients.
• Assists in preparation and transportation of patients for tests and procedures.
• Monitors patient condition levels and reports changes to appropriate staff.
• Obtains and documents vital signs and other department-specific requirements.
• Ensures rooms and supplies are stocked and equipment is functioning.
