Job summary

The Township of Pine seeks a Winter Maintenance Driver to support snow and ice control operations from November 1 through March 31. This seasonal role involves evenings and weekends, operating a 40,000 lb dump truck and other heavy equipment to keep roads safe.

Must have PA CDL and a high school diploma, with the ability to report within an hour of call-out and work 4:00 PM–12:00 AM. Competitive hourly pay of $32.00.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • PA Class B CDL or higher with no air brake restrictions.
  • Ability to report to the Township Municipal Building within one hour of a call-out.
  • Availability to work between 4:00 PM and 12:00 AM, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must successfully complete background checks, driving record review, and random drug/alcohol testing requirements.

  • Operate a 40,000 lb. GVW dump truck with automatic transmission and air brakes.
  • Perform snow plowing, salting, and ice control operations.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including loaders, skid steers, backhoes, and related machinery.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow established safety procedures.
  • Respond to scheduled and emergency winter weather events.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure safe road conditions.

Winter Maintenance Driver - CDL (Seasonal)

Join the Township of Pine Public Works team this winter! We are seeking a dependable Winter Maintenance Driver to assist with snow and ice control operations from November 1 through March 31 during evenings, nights, weekends, and weather-related call-out events.

Position Overview

The Winter Maintenance Driver plays a critical role in keeping Township roads safe during winter weather. This position operates commercial trucks and heavy equipment to perform snow removal, salting, and roadway maintenance while working alongside the Township's Public Works staff.

Hours: As Needed Part Time; Seasonal Position

Season: November 1st through March 31st

Shift: Weeknights, Weekends

Pay: $32.00 Per Hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a 40,000 lb. GVW dump truck with automatic transmission and air brakes.
  • Perform snow plowing, salting, and ice control operations.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including loaders, skid steers, backhoes, and related machinery.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in challenging winter conditions, including snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and low-visibility weather events.
