Job summary

Kelso School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for Bowling at Coweeman Middle School for the Winter season. The position offers a $1,240 monthly stipend under the Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule.

Candidates must have coaching experience, maintain First Aid/CPR cards, and be willing to acquire WIAA clock hours. The role emphasizes positive student-athlete development, safety, policy adherence, and effective communication with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Must have coaching experience in the relevant sport.
• Maintain current First Aid and CPR cards and keep them current for future coaching responsibilities.
• Demonstrate willingness to actively acquire coaching clock hours to fulfil WIAA requirements.
• Demonstrate ability to establish a positive rapport with and motivate the student/athlete.
• Be knowledgeable of current strategies, safety precautions, rules and regulations for the sport.
• Must be at least 21 years of age per WIAA requirements.
• Must uphold district policies and follow administrative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Be supportive of the total athletic program that runs through 12th grade.
• Promote good sportsmanship and exemplify high ethical standards for self and team.
• Become knowledgeable and practice WIAA Guidelines, NF rules, League SOPs.
• Adhere to district procedures, policies and coaching handbook contents.
• Develop a vision for the program that emphasizes character development and a positive experience for all athletes.
• Serve as a positive role model for students and model expected behaviors.
