Our client is seeking a Wintel Engineer for remote opportunity.

Role Description

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain VMware ESX environments, including provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain security hardening of Windows and Linux systems based on CIS benchmarks.
• Perform regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure infrastructure meets regulatory and organizational standards.
• Monitor system performance and availability, and proactively resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other IT staff.

Skills & Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Wintel Engineer or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESX/ESXi and vSphere environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration.
• Experience with CIS hardening guidelines and tools such as CIS-CAT.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and configuration management.
• Understanding of networking concepts, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or Linux+ / RHCSA.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
