Total Wine & More is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in California to lead a high-performing team and deliver exceptional customer service. You will drive sales, manage daily operations, and ensure compliance with alcohol regulations while mentoring staff and optimizing inventory and merchandising.

This role emphasizes leadership, training, and a service-first culture. As a core member of the store leadership, you will balance people management with operational excellence, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of work experience, 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role in a retail setting.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs).
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team; focus on developing product knowledge and sales skills.
• Support day-to-day operations: payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example and resolving customer issues.
• Maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives.
• Ensure adherence to laws related to sale of alcohol and maintain a safe store environment.
