Job summary

SpartanNash in West Fargo, ND is hiring a store associate to display and stock products and help meet the store's financial goals while upholding guest experience and safety standards.

You will greet customers, stock shelves, verify incoming stock, manage displays, update records, process purchases, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Preferred).
• One year of retail industry or customer service experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills.
• Understanding of regulations relating to sale of alcohol and/or tobacco products.
• Prior knowledge of wines, spirits and beer helpful for product suggestion.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and answer questions regarding product content, use and price.
• Receive, inspect and verify incoming stock; review and document freight damage.
• Arrange shelves and floor displays by changing, rotating and pricing products.
• Monitor inventory, assist with cycle counts, determine stocking needs and code merchandise.
• Enter merchandise data into the system to update files and generate reports.
• Process customer purchases promptly and courteously at the register or with scanning equipment.
• Observe customers and check identification for proof-of-age.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area on the sales floor and backroom.
• Assist in maximizing product sales by providing product information and selling suggestions.
• Follow PPE, safety and food safety guidelines, and guest experience standards.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
