Job Summary

Job Title: Wine and Spirits Clerk/Cashier

Reports To: Wine and Spirits Department Manager

This role involves assisting the Wine and Spirits department by collaborating with team members to ensure compliance with policies, achieving department goals, and meeting associates’ needs. Associates can personalize guest experiences by providing expertise on wine and spirits, including pairings and local craft beers.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet all department standards in Wine and Spirits.
  • Monitor sales floor and stock conditions; address issues proactively.
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure correct pricing.
  • Work with vendors and team members to uphold standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist guests in locating items and handling special requests.
  • Answer phone calls professionally.
  • Resolve guest concerns effectively.
  • Process transactions accurately at the register.
  • Keep the department clean and organized.
  • Meet quality standards, including timely stock and display updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance and communicate absences timely.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years old to handle sampled products.
  • Effective communication and tactful customer interaction skills.
  • Understanding of safety policies and equipment operation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for equipment operation.
  • Visual and sensory abilities for monitoring and creating displays.
  • Exposure to temperature variations.

WORK SCHEDULE

Includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on availability.
