Job summary

Binny's Beverage Depot is seeking a wine-focused team member to assist customers, expand wine knowledge, and keep the wine department well merchandised. You will join a team passionate about wine and customer service in a busy retail environment.

The role emphasizes wine expertise, excellent service, and teamwork with flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Training and career development opportunities are provided while contributing to a leading Midwest wine retailer.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Strong wine knowledge of varietals, countries and regions.
• Ability to taste wine professionally for educational purposes.
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Experience in retail, wine/spirits or hospitality preferred.
• On-the-job training and education opportunities provided.
• Cash handling and making change accurately.
• Operate business machines (scanners, keyboards, etc.).
• Able to pass alcohol training and obtain current certification.
• Effective communication with customers and managers.
• Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.
• Legible handwriting and ability to read small type.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods.
• Able to repeatedly go up/down stairs in a store setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing sales and provide customer assistance.
• Continue to develop knowledge of wine and store products.
• Work as part of a team to keep wine department organized and merchandised; move, stock, stage product.
• Assist in other departments as needed.
