Job summary

The Sommelier Society of America in San Francisco is seeking a Wine Guide to introduce guests to an extensive selection of wines and provide knowledgeable, friendly service. This role emphasizes guest engagement, wine education, and a managerial mindset to ensure an exceptional experience.

You will help guests explore over 80 wines, work evenings and weekends, and uphold professional standards while contributing to the bar's success and growth.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• California Food Handlers Certification or willingness to attain.
• California Responsible Beverage Service Certification or willing to attain.
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods.
• Experience in hospitality, preferably wine-focused.
• Reliable transportation.
• Available to work evenings and weekends; schedules may change.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Adhere to professional appearance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Guide guests to discover great wines and answer questions.
• Provide recommendations based on guests' preferences and niches.
• Act as manager on duty when needed to ensure smooth operations.
