Job summary

The Lodge at Sonoma, operated by Sage Hospitality Group, is seeking a friendly food service associate to provide prompt, courteous service to restaurant guests in a busy Sonoma setting. You will greet customers, take orders, and deliver meals, while maintaining high hospitality standards and accurate checks.

Applicants should have a High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 months of similar experience.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of customer service principles, the food server function and restaurant and kitchen operations.
• Must know standard cash-handling procedures.
• Must be fluent in oral and written English
• Must have ability to perform multiple tasks at one time.
• Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations.
• Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greets and takes food and drink orders from restaurant customers, serving the orders and accommodating special needs/requests.
• Remains attentive to customers throughout the dining experience, adhering to service standards.
• Completes restocking and cleaning duties with opening/closing sidework.
• Memorizes menu items, recipes and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Maintains cleanliness standards in restaurant, wait station and kitchen service area.
• Controls guest checks by following procedures and documenting information as orders are taken and processed.
• Receives payment from guests and ensures accuracy of checks and payments.
• Attends pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance knowledge of products and service.
• Responds to customer inquiries and comments with timely, knowledgeable information.
• Presents a clean, professional appearance and maintains a friendly demeanor.
