Job Description

The Wine Bar dishwasher will be primarily responsible for washing and storing all dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils, and will maintain all aspects of kitchen sanitation. This position will also provide general assistance and support for the leadership, department, and company.

Compensation and Employment Type

The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.32/hour and is based on qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Flex: A part-time position scheduled based on business needs and operational volume. Flex employees work between 1000 and 1559 hours annually, are subject to occasional layoffs based on business necessity, and are eligible for certain benefits after probation.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Wash and store all dishes, glassware, and silverware properly.
  2. Clean sink, dishwasher, and kitchen area after every shift.
  3. Keep Wine Bar counters stocked with clean glasses and free of dirty ones.
  4. Maintain floor cleanliness through mopping and sweeping.
  5. Help clean and maintain the dish-washing machine.
  6. Empty garbage and clean cans at the end of each shift.
  7. Assist in cleaning all food and beverage areas as instructed.
  8. Help receive and store items from deliveries, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
  9. Keep receiving areas, trash areas, and mopped areas clean and safe.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a clean work area at all times.
  2. Ensure sanitation, health, and safety standards are never compromised.
  3. Conduct oneself in accordance with Biltmore's goals, culture, and values.
  4. Participate in the department recycling program.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  6. Assist with food prep occasionally.
  7. Be a team player and support departmental and company goals.

Qualifications:

  1. Preferred previous food and beverage experience, especially in full-service restaurants.
  2. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  3. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  5. Excellent attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent bending and carrying.
  2. Stand for long periods, mainly in the dish area.
  3. Work involves exposure to hazards and physical risks, following safety precautions.
  4. Work environment includes temperature fluctuations and exposure to chemicals.
  5. Work in a loud, fast-paced environment.
