UT-Battelle, located at Oak Ridge, seeks a Windows Systems Engineer to manage Windows server environments, AD, DNS, and group policy. The role emphasizes system health, performance optimization, backups, and STIG compliance within NSS research contexts.

The candidate will work with VMware virtualization, storage solutions, and security best practices while collaborating across teams to deliver robust IT services and documentation to support ORNL missions.

Qualifications

• BS in information technology, information systems, computer science, computer engineering, business, science, or related field and minimum five years of Windows systems engineering experience.
• Active DOE Q, active DOD Top Secret, or active DOD TS/SCI clearance required.
• Proven expertise in Windows server environments including AD, DNS, and core services.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technology and storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage, configure, and maintain Windows server environments including AD, DNS, and DHCP.
• Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups; conduct STIG checks and ensure compliance.
• Implement and support VMware virtualization environments and storage solutions for Windows systems.
• Lead or participate in projects related to Windows infrastructure from design to implementation.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and collaborate with stakeholders to recommend improvements.
