Job summary

GDIT is seeking a highly skilled Windows Systems Administrator to reinforce client missions on-site in McLean, VA. This role focuses on installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows OS across physical and virtual servers, ensuring security, updates, and performance while supporting MSSQL databases and related services.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years’ experience, a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance, and a Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of experience in IT/infrastructure roles.
• Experience with Windows systems engineering including MSSQL, ADCS, VM clusters, Hyper-V, DPM, and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, support, and deploy Windows operating systems with security and performance in mind.
• Manage both physical and virtual servers; perform virus updates, patches, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate on security-related activities and maintain compliant A&A status.

Job Description:

This position requires a strong Windows Administrator, to includes installing, configuring, supporting, and deploying Windows operating systems, as well as ensuring their security and performance. They work with both physical and virtual servers, and are responsible for tasks like virus updates, patches, and performance tuning.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or other IT-related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Experience: 15+ years

Required technical skills:

• Demonstrated experience with Windows systems engineering and administration, including MSSQL databases, Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), VM clusters, Hyper-V, Data Protection Manager, and PowerShell scripting.
• Demonstrated experience with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes to accredit security-controlled systems.
• Demonstrated experience with LINUX systems engineering and administration.

Desired skills:

• Demonstrated experience with security-controlled systems, CipherTrust enterprise hardware security modules, software, and data architecture.
• Demonstrated experience as a data transfer officer with security-controlled systems.
• Demonstrated experience as an Oracle LINUX Systems Administrator.
• Demonstrated experience with Cisco switches and security appliances including ASAs, StealthWatch and Tetration.
• Demonstrated experience managing NetApp storage area networks (SANs).
• Demonstrated experience with certificate management for users, servers and service accounts.
• Demonstrated experience cross-skilling and backfilling for teammates.
• Demonstrated experience handling sensitive data, exercising discretion and sound judgment, and achieving mission outcomes.
• Certification(s) - Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator
• Demonstrated experience with Sponsor's security-controlled systems, software, and data architecture.
• Demonstrated experience with Sponsor's Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes.
• Demonstrated experience as a data transfer officer with Sponsor's security-controlled systems.
• Demonstrated experience with IT Program Management and support.

Tools and technologies:

• Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022).
• Windows desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11).
• Microsoft Group Policy Management (for managing settings across multiple machines).
• Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) (for managing updates).
• Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

The likely salary range for this position is $199,750 - $270,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
