Job summary

OSC EdgeTech, LLC seeks a Windows Systems Administrator (SQL & Citrix) to support U.S. Army HR Command, maintaining secure Windows Server environments, SQL databases, and Citrix delivery systems for critical personnel applications. The role requires an Active Secret clearance and DoD-era experience within a secure network.

Position Overview

The Windows Systems Administrator supports the U.S. Army Human Resources Command by maintaining secure, reliable, and mission‑focused IT infrastructure. The role includes administration of Windows Server environments, SQL Server databases, and Citrix virtual delivery systems that enable critical HR applications, personnel systems, and enterprise services used across the Army.

Major Activities

• Install, protect, recover, and modernize the application hosting systems and capabilities (including servers, storage, databases, and other essential infrastructure) needed to provision enterprise IT applications to the world-wide user community.
• Build, sustain, patch, back-up, and recover a fleet of physical windows servers, in multiple network enclave environments.
• Execute performance testing and optimization to meet performance specifications, monitor and report on system utilization rates, and service capacities.
• Build and provision physical and virtual servers, using a mix of appliances, stand‑alone, clustered, and/or high‑availability designs; configure and sustain all necessary hardware and software configurations to meet design goals, support includes configuring server parameters, configuring network services, requesting, and applying IP addresses, troubleshooting, and service verification.
• Build and sustain directory services, identity management systems, organizational units, and global policies in support of computer and user objects across all network enclaves.
• Archive and decommission physical and virtual servers.
• Plan, execute, and document mission-application baseline specification changes, to include changes to high‑availability, fault‑tolerant system designs, cluster‑aware applications, client‑server applications, web‑enabled applications, and other n‑tier application architectures.
• Support code deployments of mission applications.
• Support and execute migrations of server-hosted applications to a mix of Public and Private Cloud environments; verify before and after services; and map, build, sustain, and validate interfaces between data systems.
• Build, sustain, image, and script logical containers and other components needed to automate server administration across all supported networks.
• provide verification of data owners, authorized submitters, and logon identifications (IDs), existing level of privileges, and system security configurations for specific systems identified by the Government, the SA will.
• Install, secure, and troubleshoot website-hosting servers, web‑application servers, and websites by identifying system requirements, building systems, installing updates, deploying applications, securing the systems from cyber security attacks, deploying application and website content updates, and configuring authentication and authorization to meet cyber security mandates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of DoD IT systems, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Risk Management Framework (RMF), and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across server, application, and network environments.
• Ability to administer and support virtualized environments using VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
• Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions in a mission‑critical environment.
• Strong ability to produce clear documentation and follow DoD change management procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a mission-driven technical team supporting high‑visibility Army HR systems, with a strong commitment to maintaining secure and reliable systems.
• Good interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated‑company employees as well as outside business associates; exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others.

Physical Abilities

• Sufficient fine motor skills for the use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
• Visual and communications ability are adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
• Ability to reach below shoulder height with regular frequency (desk position) and at or above shoulder height on occasion.

Required Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED.
• Hands‑on experience administering Windows Server systems in an enterprise or DoD environment.
• Practical experience managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server (configuration, backup/restore, maintenance plans, performance optimization).
• Experience administering Citrix environments (Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktop, StoreFront, Director, Delivery Controllers).
• Experience administering and supporting virtualized environments using VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
• Certification Security+ or higher.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the U.S. Army enterprise network (AEI), NETCOM, or prior support to HRC systems.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and system maintenance.
• Experience with DoD monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, SCOM, Nessus/ACAS).
• Certifications:
  • Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE)
  • Citrix (CCA‑V, CCP‑V)
  • SQL Server certifications
