Job summary

Cogeco Communications is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to ensure availability, performance, and security of our Windows servers, virtualization platforms, and supporting infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role balances daily operational support with proactive maintenance to uphold SLAs, optimize user performance, and sustain a resilient 24/7 enterprise IT landscape. Strong Windows, AD, and cloud skills are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years experience in IT Infrastructure Operations with a min of 3 years in a Systems Admin role and cloud exposure.
Proficiency with Windows Server ecosystem, AD, DNS, DHCP, and security hardening.

Responsibilities

Administers Windows servers and virtualization hosts across on-prem and cloud locations.
Maintains Ongoing operation of VDI infrastructure and backup solutions.
Builds automation scripts for provisioning and optimization; ensures SLA adherence.
Performs capacity planning and tuning for maximum uptime within SLAs.
Supports incident/change/problem management and provides on-call coverage.
