Job summary

D2 Technical Services seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to maintain and optimize client computer systems. The role involves hands‑on support across networks, software, hardware, and configurations, with emphasis on security and reliability.

Requirements include 5+ years in systems administration, Active Directory, Windows Server 2012/2016, and security certifications. A BS in CS/ENG or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems administration and analysis.
• Active Directory Account Management and Windows Server troubleshooting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• DoD IA Certification required; CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP or CCNA-Security preferred; Security+ CE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on technical support; manage networks, software, hardware, and system configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues with minimal downtime.
• Educate end‑users on effective hardware and software use to boost productivity.
• Perform software installations, system upgrades, and maintain operating systems and software packages.
• Monitor system performance and adjust for optimal operation.
• Ensure data integrity and reliability of workstations and servers.
• Manage regular backups and database archives; stay current on data/media recoverability.
• Conduct system audits to ensure security standards and best practices.
• Collaborate to enhance performance and security; meet user needs.
• Assist with system evaluations and contribute to long‑term planning strategies.
• May work with administrative programming languages to optimize internal processes.
• Stay current on emerging technologies to keep systems modern and efficient.
• Participate in dynamic special projects!

What We're Looking For:

Experience: 5+ years in systems administration and analysis.

Skills & Knowledge:

Active Directory Account Management.

Expertise in Windows Server 2012/2016 and Windows 10/11 troubleshooting.

Familiarity with key applications like Outlook, Excel, Word, JAVA, and Internet Explorer.

Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) experience is a plus.

MS Exchange knowledge is a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (including military or technical training).

• Certifications: Must possess an appropriate and current DoDInformation Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either validCompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) -Security. CompTIA Security+ CE Certification is the preferred certification.
