Job summary

Amentum in Columbia, Maryland, seeks a System Administrator 2 to support mission-critical IT systems on a DoD prime contract. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and IAM Level 1 certification, with extensive UNIX and Windows experience and strong Tier I/II support capabilities.

You will perform system maintenance, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and escalate as needed while ensuring reliability and performance for agency customers.

Qualifications

• Ten years’ experience as a SA on programs of similar scope.
• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• In lieu of a bachelor's degree, four (4) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAM Level 1 is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
• Provide support for escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and load OS software; troubleshoot and improve reliability.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Aid users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

We are seeking a System Administrator 2 to join our team of passionate individuals on our Prime contract based out of Columbia, Maryland. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the nation’s security and intelligence mission.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
