Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer in Midvale, Utah, to own day‑to‑day admin and drive improvements across Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Windows Server, and cybersecurity controls. You will partner with stakeholders and vendors to support business continuity and productivity.

The role requires 5+ years of enterprise systems experience, strong scripting with PowerShell, and a focus on security, availability, and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems administration experience in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on with M365, Azure/Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server, AD, and GPO.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with virtualization and cybersecurity controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server and core services (AD, DNS, DHCP).
• Support and optimize Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
• Manage Intune for device configuration, compliance, patching.
• Administer Azure/Entra ID identity and security posture.
• Ensure system availability, backups, DR readiness, and incident remediation.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure, cloud, and modernization initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.

Job Description: Lead Systems Engineer
Position Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $110,000-120,000
Location: Hybrid- Midvale, Utah
Experience Level: 5+ years experience

Overview
We’re seeking a systems and cloud engineer to serve as the primary technical resource on an internal IT team, responsible for keeping core infrastructure and cloud servicessecure, reliable, and scalable. This role will own day-to-day administration and continuous improvement acrossMicrosoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Windows Server, identity, endpoint management, virtualization, and cybersecurity controls—while partnering with internal stakeholders and third-party providers to support business continuity and user productivity.
Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintainWindows Serverand core services includingActive Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure.
• Support and optimizeMicrosoft 365services includingExchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Manageendpoint administrationwithIntune: configuration, device compliance, patching, and standardization.
• AdministerAzure / Entra IDand identity/security posture (access controls, identity strategy, and governance support).
• Maintainsystem availability, monitoring, backups, and disaster recoveryreadiness for business-critical systems.
• Implement and administer cybersecurity controls such asMFA, Conditional Access, endpoint security, and vulnerability remediation.
• ProvideTier 3 escalation support, troubleshooting complex issues and performing root-cause analysis.
• Partner withmanaged service providers, vendors, and internal teamsto resolve incidents and deliver improvements.
• Create and maintaintechnical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, automation, and modernization initiatives aligned to the IT roadmap.
• Identify opportunities forautomation and process improvementto increase security, scalability, and user experience.
• Success Metrics (KPIs)
• High availability, performance, and security across infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud platforms.
• Timely completion ofpatching, endpoint updates, access administration, and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong Tier 3 support outcomes: responsive troubleshooting, clear communication, and durable fixes.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ yearsof systems administration experience (enterprise environment preferred).

Hands-on experience with:

• Microsoft 365 (M365)
• Azure / Entra ID
• Intune
• Windows Server / Active Directory / Group Policy
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Preferred Skills / Experience
• PowerShellscripting and automation experience.
• Experience supporting virtualization platforms (any major stack).
• Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have)
