Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Rock Hill is seeking a skilled individual to maintain a virtualized server environment. The ideal candidate will ensure the server is fully functional through monitoring and troubleshooting and will perform software upgrades as needed. This role requires experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMWare, along with an associate degree in a related field. The position involves project work and occasional off-hours support.

Job description

Maintains an 85 server virtualized (VMWare) environment utilizing Dell server and storage hardware. Monitors the environment using SolarWinds (and other tools) to ensure adequate capacity and identify issues before they lead to service outages, performs troubleshooting, software upgrades on servers. Change activity performed within a structured change / problem management environment. Some off hours work to support change activity to production servers. Interfaces with applications, network support, and Help Desk as needed.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check system monitoring service to ensure server environment is fully functional.
• Confirm back-ups completed successfully.
• Investigate infrastructure issues escalated to you from help desk and tier 2 and those discovered during system checks.
• Work on assigned projects that update server infrastructure.
• Perform other duties as requested.
