Responsibilities

  • Install residential windows and entry/patio/storm doors in a team setting.
  • Ensure installations meet quality standards, specs and codes.
  • Complete advanced steps including flashing and finish work with limited supervision.
  • Assess jobsites and identify challenges before and during work.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and escalate when needed.
  • Maintain safe jobsite and follow safety policies.
  • Communicate with customers throughout the installation process.
  • Complete service work, punch lists and warranty repairs as assigned.
  • Verify material accuracy and report shortages or damages.
  • Mentor junior/senior apprentices in techniques.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and jobsite cleanliness.
  • Document completion, lead-safe practices, and photos.

Job description

The Window/Door Journeyman Installer is responsible for performing residential window and door installations with a high degree of independence, ensuring each project meets company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable building codes. Having progressed beyond the Apprentice levels, the Journeyman Installer works confidently with limited supervision, applies advanced installation techniques, and is developing the leadership skills needed to progress toward Lead Installer.

This role is a key step in the company's installer career path — building on the training and field experience. This requires a strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction while continuing to develop toward roles with greater leadership and mentoring responsibility.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Work side by side in a team environment to complete installation of residential windows, entry doors, patio doors, storm doors, and related products.
  • Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable building codes.
  • Complete advanced installation steps, including flashing, waterproofing, and finish work, using power tools with limited supervision.
  • Conduct jobsite assessments and identify potential installation challenges prior to and during project execution.
  • Troubleshoot common installation issues in the field and a complex problems to the Lead or Master Lead Installer.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe jobsite for the crew and customer.
  • Communicate professionally with customers throughout the installation process and address routine concerns.
  • Complete service work, punch-list items, and warranty-related repairs as assigned.
  • Verify material accuracy prior to installation and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Assist in mentoring Junior and Senior Apprentices on basic and advanced installation techniques.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and jobsite cleanliness.
  • Accurately document project completion, lead-safe practices, and required completion photos.

PAY: Hourly rate of $24-$26 plus the potential of a monthly bonus
