Insight Global in San Diego is seeking a Windchill System Administrator to support administration, maintenance, and optimization of PTC Windchill environments. The role involves building Windchill servers, patch installation, environment refreshes, SSL setup, CAD Worker configuration, and ongoing troubleshooting to ensure system stability.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of Windchill experience (or 4–6+ years) plus strong PLM domain knowledge, with familiarity in Java APIs, ERP/MES integrations,

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or computer science and 2+ years’ Windchill experience OR 4-6+ years’ Windchill experience.
• In-depth knowledge of PTC Windchill suite: Windchill, ProjectLink, PartsLink, MPMLink, Creo View, Creo Parametric.
• PLM domain expertise in CAD data management, BOM management, change management, ERP/MES integrations.

Responsibilities

An Industrial Manufacturing company is seeking a Windchill System Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of PTC Windchill environments. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day system administration, server monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration management, and supporting customizations across the Windchill platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Windchill, strong PLM domain knowledge, and exposure to integrated engineering and manufacturing systems. This role will partner closely with PLM architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the Windchill ecosystem. Daily responsibilities may include: building Windchill servers, installing patches, performing rehosts (environment refreshes), installing SSL Certificates, setting up various CAD Workers, general trouble shooting and so on. Monitoring Windchill server health (Method Server, Background Method Server, Windchill Directory Server) and elevate issues.

Skills and Requirements

• -Degree in engineering or computer science field, and 2+ years’ experience using and administering Windchill OR 4-6+ years’ experience using/administering Windchill.
• -In-depth working knowledge of PTC's suite of products, primarily Windchill, ProjectLink, PartsLink (Classification), MPMLink, Creo View, and Creo Parametric
• -PLM domain expertise in the areas of Computer Aided Design (CAD) Data Management, Parts & Bills of Material Management, Change Management, Integrations with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system & Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
• -CAD tool familiarity (Creo, SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD) integrated with Windchill.
• -Basic Scripting (Shell, Perl, or PowerShell) -Development and implementation of large Windchill Applications including some understanding of Windchill APIs, Java, JSP, Servlets, Spring, JavaScript, Web services - SOAP & REST, HTML, CSS, Oracle, Eclipse, and Thingworx.
