We are seeking a skilled Windchill Systems Administrator with strong experience in AWS cloud environments to manage, maintain, and optimize our PTC Windchill PLM system. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Windchill infrastructure and configurations, with proven experience deploying and supporting the application in cloud-based environments (AWS). This role requires close collaboration with engineering, DevOps, and IT security teams to ensure high system availability, performance, and compliance.
This is a short-term contract for 2-3 months with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support PTC Windchill environments (Production, Test, Development).
- Install, configure, and upgrade Windchill components and associated software (e.g., Oracle/SQL databases, Apache, Tomcat).
- Manage and maintain Windchill application servers, load balancers, and reverse proxies in an AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain automation scripts (Shell, PowerShell, Python, etc.) for routine administrative tasks and deployments.
- Work with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC to ensure a robust and secure deployment environment.
- Monitor system performance and perform tuning and troubleshooting to ensure uptime and reliability.
- Manage Windchill data backups, disaster recovery procedures, and system patching.
- Collaborate with development and support teams on Windchill customizations, patches, and integration with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CAD).
- Document system configurations, maintenance procedures, and support guides.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, license management, and audit readiness.
- Participate in on-call support and respond to critical system issues as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience administering PTC Windchill (preferably versions 11.x or 12.x).
- 2+ years of experience managing systems in AWS cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of PLM principles and Windchill modules (PDMLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, etc.).
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows server administration.
- Experience with AWS infrastructure management including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation or Terraform (preferred).
- Familiarity with database systems such as Oracle or MS SQL Server.
- Knowledge of networking, load balancing, SSL/TLS, and security best practices.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Shell, Python, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience in Windchill integrations with CAD (Creo, SolidWorks) and ERP systems.
- Understanding of Windchill customization and development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
