Job summary

Flender in Elgin, IL is seeking a Tester to assist in the final testing of wind turbine power transmissions and their subassemblies. You will work under the supervision of other testers, leadmen or supervisor and perform duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Typically 1 year in production environment.
• Typically 1 year in testing environment.
• Demonstration of sound mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Verifies units to parts lists, assembly/test card, assembly/test protocols.
• Assembles fixtures to unit and installs on test stand.
• Connects and wires sensors, motors, and probes per the test criteria.
• Reports failures when noticed.
• Checks units for cleanliness and visually inspects for defects.
• Fills unit with oil per the assembly/test card.
• Assists in the monitoring of units during test.
• Operates test stand and monitors units during test requests guidance when needed.
• Inspects units for oil leaks during test.
• Drains oil from test unit after test.
• Removes units from test stand and takes off fixtures.
• Assists in after test inspection per the criteria set forth in the assembly/test card.
• Performs after test assembly of shrink disc, oil pans, and coolers.
• Enters information in the eMPP stations.
• Works along with representatives of other functional groups to include Assembly, Service, or others to communicate the findings on the unit.
