The Tech One Program (TOP) is a structured career development program for entry-level wind technicians, developed in partnership with industry leaders Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas.

Job Summary:

The TOP Wind Service Technicians will undergo specialized wind safety and technical training accredited by the Global Wind Organization (GWO). The role involves working at a wind site near your home, on a service team to ensure safe and efficient wind turbine maintenance. You will report directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician during jobs. Responsibilities include performing preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generators safely and efficiently. You will maintain and repair machinery, turbines, and generators, primarily used in power generation. Certification to work inside cabinets or controllers is not included without direct supervision by a certified Electrical Technician. Additional duties may be assigned to meet customer needs and align with our organizational mission and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. full-time
• High School Diploma / GED and an Associate Degree in Mechanical or Wind Energy disciplines, or equivalent work experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic industries
• Completion of training including Basic Safety, Tower Safety, Technical (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic), LOTO, and other required trainings
• Successful background check and drug screening

• Proficiency in reading English, diagrams, and wiring schematics

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb 300-foot wind towers multiple times daily
• Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and handling weights up to 50 lbs
• Must pass climb and rescue training tests

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical installations, maintenance, operations, and upgrades
• Ensure work meets customer requirements and document all activities
• Report violations and submit progress reports
• Repair or replace parts, operate tools safely
• Work independently on maintenance tasks, dismantle and assemble machinery
• Travel as needed (up to 25%) and work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
• Work at heights and in various weather conditions, maintain a valid driver’s license
