Job summary

Deutsche Windtechnik in Houston offers a 24-month LeaderInTraining program, starting as an Associate Technician and progressing to Technician II through hands-on field work and structured rotations.

Fellows gain experience on wind turbines, plus 3–4 month back-office rotations in Houston, with formal training in safety, maintenance, and operations, preparing them for leadership roles in a growing company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Wind/renewable energy discipline is preferred.
• Affinity for mechanical work is essential.
• Back-office MS Office skills are expected.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal, is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and follow safety rules.
• Physically fit to climb turbines and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must pass a physical exam and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Adhere to safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
• Assist with site operations and high-voltage system maintenance.
• Generate reports and assist with back-office tasks.
• Learn and report wind turbine error codes and issues.
• Support field technicians and participate in rotations.
