Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Millwright for the Highland Repower Wind Project in Primghar, IA. You will dismantle, erect, assemble, align, adjust, and maintain machinery per manuals, plans, and drawings.

Responsibilities include offloading components, installing nacelle parts, connecting blades to hubs, setting bases, and assisting crane operations on a wind energy site. Strong safety focus required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, assembly/disassembly, operation and maintenance instructions; strong teamwork and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with active listening and effective communication; open to diverse input.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive and offload major components.
• Install loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation.
• Connect blades to hub.
• Set base and tower sections.
• Handle taglines.
• Assist with main erection crane assembly and teardown.
• Climb ladders (average 80m).
• Drill and/or tap holes on turbines, generators, compressors, and pumps.
• Torque/tension bolted connections.
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
