Job summary

GE Vernova’s Controls Quality team seeks an experienced Controls Quality Engineer - Operability to enhance testing and operational effectiveness of wind turbine controls algorithms. You will validate features that mitigate load conditions, detect anomalies, and optimize performance, partnering with Controls Development to feed field learnings into validation and future product development.

The role emphasizes improving fleet operability, customer experience, and overall turbine performance,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering/science required.
Minimum 5 years of controls engineering experience required.
8+ years of engineering experience desirable.
Experience with wind turbine controls and operability preferred.
Experience developing validation plans and test strategies preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead RCA and PAC investigations involving turbine operability and controls behavior.
Analyze fleet operational data to identify risks, opportunities, and defect trends.
Evaluate control algorithms related to load mitigation, anomaly detection, and performance optimization.
Drive improvements to validation strategies and field-condition testing.
Identify defect escape pathways and implement preventive quality improvements.
Support testing methodologies to improve detection of operability defects.
Partner with Controls Development to strengthen requirements and validation coverage.
Collaborate with Fleet Performance Management to understand field performance trends and customer impacts.
