Job summary

Qualifications

• B.A./M.A. in Mechanical/Structural/Packaging Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to work with global teams across cultural boundaries.
• Minimum 3 years product design and development experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
• Knowledge of CAD (Unigraphics NX 3D-CAD), FEA (Ansys) and PLM tools.
• Fluent English written and spoken.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of time.

Responsibilities

• Develop transportation fixture, packaging, and preservation designs & documentation.
• Adapt designs to transport modes and storage conditions per standards.
• Create and refine design practices for consistency across platforms.
• Support Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Projects to solve packaging problems.
• Research technical problems and find independent solutions.
• Own risk identification and mitigation including dFMEA and design validation.
• Take ownership of transportation and packaging issues for domestic and international platforms.
• Collaborate with Systems, Subsystem, Sourcing, and Global Logistics teams.
• Prioritize work from internal customers and align with team goals.
• Publish transportation fixture and packaging specifications for 3rd parties.
• Perform trade-off studies to ensure cost effectiveness.
• Manage special projects under Transportation Engineering Leader.
