Job summary

Invenergy LLC, North America's leading wind energy developer, is seeking a Wind Technician for the Chickasaw Wind Energy Center near New Hampton, IA. You will operate and maintain the wind energy facility and its turbine equipment.

You will perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on Siemens Gamesa and GE turbines, climb towers daily with required safety gear, and troubleshoot faults to keep the farm running smoothly in variable weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of technical experience in mechanical or electrical fields.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on wind turbines and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.

About The Site

Chickasaw Wind Energy is a 202.4 MW wind power generation facility located near New Hampton, IA utilizing SGRE 3.1-129 and GE 2.82-127 turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Chickasaw Wind Energy Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on Siemens Gamesa and GE wind turbines and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 124 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly Bonus: 0% - 10% The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
