Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Plymouth Wind Energy Center near Marcus, IA. You will operate and maintain wind turbines, perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance, and climb turbine towers to inspect and repair equipment.

The role requires at least 1 year of technical experience or related education, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, climb towers, and lift up to 100 pounds. Base pay is provided with a bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1 year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or technical training.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights.
• Capable of climbing ladders and handling physical tasks up to 100 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing safety gear, to inspect, maintain, or repair components.
• Troubleshoot faults and repair or replace components as needed.
• Maintain tools, facilities, and a safe work environment.
• Support a 40-hour week with overtime during peak maintenance periods.

About the Site

The Plymouth Wind Energy Center is a 202.74 MW wind power generation facility located near Marcus, IA utilizing GE 2.3 and 2.82 MW turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Plymouth Wind Energy Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Required Skills

• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay

$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly

Bonus: 0% - 10%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
