Job summary

Invenergy LLC is hiring a Wind Technician for the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center in Big Spring, TX. You will operate and maintain GE wind turbines, climb towers daily, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to ensure safe, reliable power generation.

• One year of mechanical or electrical technical experience or education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights over 80 meters (250 feet).
• Able to lift up to 45 kg (100 lb) and move equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
• The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods.

About the Site

The Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center is a 120 MW wind power generation facility located in Big Spring, TX utilizing GE 1.7-100 WTG's turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or EquivalentOne (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance.

Safety and Testing

Compensation

Base Pay$29.49 - 49.97 USD Hourly

Bonus: 0% - 10%
