Job summary

System One is hiring certified wind technicians to apply electro-mechanical skills for maintenance and repair of wind turbines at the Big Spring site. Pay is dependent on experience, with relocation assistance available.

Role includes diagnosing, repairing, inspecting and documenting work, with emphasis on safety and quality control. Requires climbing towers, outdoor work, and ability to handle up to 50 lbs tools and parts.

Qualifications

• Valid GE LOTO certification.
• Driver license in good standing.
• Willing to relocate within 1 hour of the site.
• 2+ years in power generation or wind turbine maintenance.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair wind turbines as directed by Site Supervisor and document parts usage and time worked.
• Perform quality control inspections on repairs and maintenance by internal or subcontractor teams.
• Execute predefined wind turbine service delivery tasks on-site and remotely.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and report violations to Site Supervisor.
• Maintain inventory for spare parts and coordinate with maintenance sub-contractors.

Job Title – Site Technician (Relocation package offered)
Pay Rate – Depending on Experience.
Location – Big Springs, TX

SUMMARY

System One is currently hiring certified wind technicians. This position requires you to apply your electro-mechanical skills and experience in determining, performing, and the inspection of maintenance and repair requirements for assigned Wind Turbines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform diagnosis and repair to Wind Turbines as directed by the Site Supervisor and prepare and maintain proper documentation to support the repairs, to include parts usage and time worked
Perform quality control inspections on repairs and maintenance functions provided by maintenance or repair sub-contractors
Performs technical, mainly pre-defined tasks for accomplishing defined service delivery work for customer equipment.
Performs mainly pre-defined, technical tasks (for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) and work packages on-site and remotely.
Prepare timely and concise reports regarding inspections to insure proper steps are taken to remedy any deficiencies
Interact closely with onsite maintenance sub-contractor’s employees and provide guidance and training when applicable
Be proactive in regards to wind turbine counter measures or enhancements that may be needed and assist in the development of such procedure’s as required
Assure proper procedures are followed during troubleshooting, repairs, or counter measure installations
Assure proper procedures are followed by sub-contractor to perform regular scheduled maintenance activities
Strive to keep maintenance costs low and quality high
Comply with all Safety policies and procedures and report any violation to the Site Supervisor immediately
Assist the Site Supervisor in effectively maintaining parts inventory to include initiation or continuance of inventory stock and issuance system for spare parts and defective parts control and communication

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in sciences or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution, with at least 1 year in wind turbine maintenance (Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex).
• Wind turbine experience preferred.
• Alternatively, 2 or 4-year college degree in engineering, physics, power, or similar from an accredited school.
• Military experience in electrical, electronics, or mechanical fields is acceptable.
• Current Journeyman, Master Electrician License, or Wind Tech Certificate preferred.
• Unrestricted driver license in good standing.
• Willing to relocate within 1 hour of the site.
• Ability to follow work instructions and perform rigging and signaling tasks.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety policies, troubleshooting, and electrical/mechanical systems.
• Intermediate PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and team skills.
• Must be able to climb wind towers, work in small, swaying areas, and handle tools/equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme environments and walk, stand, and climb extensively.
• Eligible to work legally in the United States; no sponsorship available.
