Job description

Your Impact:

Pearce is seeking a Wind Safety Specialist. You will play a key role in driving safety metrics and compliance, supporting operational teams, and leading HSE programs and policies. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining a safe working environment across all levels of operations.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with HSE and operational teams to define and achieve safety metrics and objectives based on industry risk profiles.
  2. Promote initiatives for a strong safety culture aiming for zero harm.
  3. Provide coaching and support on HSE practices to leadership, managers, and technicians.
  4. Oversee and report on HSE performance metrics using management systems.
  5. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  6. Manage injury and illness tracking, reporting, and case management.
  7. Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
  8. Identify and address EHS process gaps with action plans.
  9. Develop and share safety training materials tailored to the wind industry.
  10. Ensure compliance with external customer HSE standards.
  11. Manage driver safety programs to reduce vehicle incidents.
  12. Update and develop HSE procedures and policies.
  13. Facilitate safety communication through meetings and educational content.
  14. Train staff on key HSE topics to ensure knowledge and adherence.

Core Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or Environmental Sciences, or an Associate’s/technical degree with 4+ years relevant experience.
  • Certifications such as ASP or CSP are preferred.
  • Minimum three years in safety coordination, ideally in wind or related industries.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety, lockout/tagout, working at heights, and driver safety.
  • Proficiency in wind generation sector safety practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of OSHA, EPA regulations; Cal/OSHA knowledge is a plus.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
