Job summary

Valley Iron Inc in Fresno is seeking a Will Call Operator to prepare customer orders, stock materials, and load delivery trucks in a fast-paced outdoor setting. You will operate forklifts and overhead cranes, ensure accuracy, safety, and customer service, and collaborate with sales staff and drivers.

Minimum 2 years forklift/overhead crane experience preferred; knowledge of steel and aluminum products helpful.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years forklift/overhead crane operating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience with chop saws and propane torches is preferred.
• Knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum products is helpful.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing daily demands.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders accurately and safely as submitted by sales and walk-in customers.
• Pull stock materials to complete orders and deliveries.
• Prepare and process call-in orders promptly.
• Assist customers picking up materials by wrapping, staging, and filing.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and cutting tools as needed.
• Load and unload materials from vehicles.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, sales staff, and supervisors.
• Provide professional customer service at all times.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
