Job summary

Rocket Pest Control in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Wildlife Specialist Technician to perform inspections, install traps, apply treatments, and design pest control strategies across assigned routes. The role requires climbing, safe handling of products, and strong communication with customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must complete 30-day training with classroom and field instruction and earn at least two CEUs annually.
• Valid driver license and must be 21 years of age.
• Must be able to climb a 40 ft ladder and perform physical tasks.
• Must pass a seven-year criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Install wildlife and pest traps and apply sealants to gaps in structures.
• Inspect and troubleshoot traps; monitor infestation and communicate progress to customers.
• Disperse wildlife as required by law and perform pest control treatments.
• Explain pest control scope and fertilization services to customers.
• Maintain service schedules and contact customers prior to service.
• Operate Sentricon stations and monitor bait stations as part of control strategies.
• Provide steam or liquid treatments for bed bugs and other pests.
• Assist with spray installation and use PPE and respirators safely.

Our Position

This position will have a designated territory where you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to controlling insects, rodents and other pest involving application of professional products and tactics. Wildlife Specialist Technician will conduct home and property inspections by identifying potential and actual pest problems, remove unwanted pests, setup and check on laid traps, install Sentricon systems and design further control strategies such as Integrated Pest Management.

Your Responsibilities

• Primarily will install wildlife and pest traps, apply caulks or other supplies to fill in gaps/holes in the structure of the house, spay installation, use a respirator, and use other construction methods to resolve issues.
• Inspect/troubleshoot wildlife traps as needed to employ sound pest control strategies to maintain a pest free environment for customers on assigned route in addition to continuously monitor infestation/rodent areas and pest application methods (i.e. baits, traps, etc.) after application and communicate progress to customers and operation managers.
• Ability to dispose or displace any wildlife caught in accordance with Federal, State, or local laws.
• Diagnose and discuss the scope of pest control & fertilization service(s) with customers.
• Maintain service schedules for all customers on assigned routes, calling customer prior to their service.
• Using auger to drill holes into ground for Sentricon stations and uses other tools to dig trenches for liquid termite applications, when applicable. Monitoring Sentricon or other bait stations at regular intervals.
• Maintaining service schedules for all customers on assigned routes and calling customers prior to their service.
• Providing steam, liquid treatments for bed bugs and/or heat treatment applications.
• Assisting spray installation (TAP Insulation), uses a respirator and other construction methods to resolve issues.
• Perform assigned duties on rooftops, in attics, in crawl spaces, and on ladders at least 40ft high, and can take pictures of effected areas and show them to the customer.
• Communicating effectively with customers before, during and after service delivery to assess and meet their needs.
• Communicating with sales staff to meet client expectations.
• Participating in ongoing training programs to constantly improve upon skill level.
• Completing and submitting service-related paperwork in a timely and orderly fashion.
• Maintaining assigned service vehicle, equipment and tools in clean/good working condition.
• Adhering and abiding by all driving laws/company policies when operating company vehicles.
• Ability to read and understand product/PPE labels accurately to ensure that they are properly applied, stored and disposed of in compliance with State and Federal laws.
• Inspect properties for additional pest and/or lawn service needs to generate leads and/or proposals and close sales, if necessary.
• Participating in collections efforts.
• Additional projects as assigned.

Our Requirements

• Complete a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Position requires successful completion of 30-day initial training (classroom and field training) and earning minimum of two CEU’s annually.
• Must have a valid driver license and be 21 years of age.
• Required to use 40ft ladder.
• Must be able to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, kneel, push, pull and lift at least 50 pountd or more.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication, with emphasis during telephone calls, follow-ups, and in-person correspondence.
• Ability to calculate basic math.
• Working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• This is a safety-sensitive position; where a momentary lapse of concentration can result in serious injury, death, environmental consequences, or data breach.
• Must be able to work Saturdays.
• Must be able to pass a seven-year criminal background check.
• Must be able to pass drug screen.Must be able to pass a three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier.
