Job summary

Second Chance Wildlife Center in Clarksburg, MD, is hiring a Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician for a full-time, 40-hour week starting November 1st. The role offers extensive training, apprenticeships, continuing education, and paid conferences, with potential overtime during the busy season.

You will provide medical and rehabilitative care to injured and orphaned wildlife, assist veterinarians, maintain records, administer medications, and help release healthy animals back to the wild.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, wildlife science, or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of wildlife rehabilitation experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and rehabilitative care to injured wildlife.
• Maintain daily care and tracking of patient records and databases.
• Assist veterinary leadership and supervise interns/volunteers.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments.
• Release healthy animals back to the wild.
• Perform intake exams and routine evaluations.
