Job summary

The Conservancy of Southwest Florida is offering a wildlife rehabilitation internship through the von Arx Wildlife Hospital program. Interns will gain hands-on experience in wildlife care, assisting professional rehabilitators and learning essential husbandry skills.

This position focuses on caring for wildlife patients and provides training in species identification and basic rehabilitation. Candidates need a science-based degree and must be committed, self-motivated, and ready to work under various weather conditions.

Interns will receive a bi-weekly stipend of $300 along with dorm accommodation.

Qualifications

• Must commit to a minimum of six months.
• Must work long hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must record patient information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wildlife husbandry, nutrition, and care.
• Set up and clean animal enclosures.
• Maintain accurate wildlife medical records.
• Interact with the public and other interns professionally.
