Job summary

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Huron Wetland Management District, is seeking a Wildlife Refuge Specialist to assist in developing and administering the operating program and related activities.

The position involves working with the Refuge Manager and senior staff on long-range plans, budgets, NEPA analyses, outreach and education, with travel up to 10 nights per month. A uniform and travel card are provided to support duties.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
• Substitution of education for experience requires transcripts.
• USA Hire assessment may be required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing long-range plans, annual work plans, budgets and work schedules.
• Prepare administrative reports and annual narrative reports related to wildlife management and administrative programs.
• Participate in NEPA documentation (EAs, ESA Section 7, archeological clearances).
• Support outreach and education programs for the community.
