Job summary

Nevada Department of Wildlife seeks two Wildlife Staff Specialists to oversee bighorn sheep and Rocky Mountain elk programs, develop research proposals, manage data, and coordinate with regional staff across Nevada. Headquarters in Reno with possible placements in Elko, Fallon or Las Vegas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus four years of professional wildlife management experience including planning and reporting.
• Alternative: one year as Biologist III in Nevada State service or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement research proposals and projects for Nevada wildlife species.
• Coordinate and direct management and research programs across the State.
• Prepare reports and grant applications; manage budgets and grants.
• Represent NDOW at conferences and coordinate with regional staff for field work.
