Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company is seeking a hands-on wildlife ranch operative in Texas to support daily wildlife operations and cattle management. The role involves feeding and monitoring herds, maintaining feeders, and assisting with deer surveys and field data collection.

The position requires operating heavy equipment, setting up hunting stands, and assisting with guest services during hunts. You will work under the Wildlife Manager with Ranch Manager oversight, on-site at the ranch facilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to assist with wildlife operations.
• Ability to feed, monitor, and check cattle as directed.
• Experience operating heavy equipment (tractors, skid steers, backhoes).
• Willingness to assist with hunting guest services and ranch activities.

• Score and age white-tailed deer on the hoof.
• Scout and pattern white-tailed deer.
• Set up hunting and blind locations as assigned.
• Utilize video equipment and cameras to capture wildlife and record data to ranch database.
• General post-harvest duties including skinning and cape preparation.
• Guide hunts and assist guest services.
• Maintain water systems and herbicide application.
• Maintenance of ranch equipment and facilities.
• Fence construction, repair, and maintenance.
• Assist with any ranch activities as assigned by Wildlife or Ranch Manager.
