Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department seeks a Natural Resources Specialist I‑III for the Matador Wildlife Management Area and Panhandle WMA Project. You will plan and implement wildlife and habitat management and provide outreach to private landowners and the public.

Responsibilities include reporting, collaborations, and fieldwork; you may oversee equipment and infrastructure maintenance while complying with TPWD safety rules and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in wildlife-related field and 24 hours wildlife coursework.
• NRS I: no experience; NRS II: 2 years; NRS III: 6 years relevant experience.
• Must obtain a valid driver’s license; within 1 year, must obtain applicator license and NWCG FFT II certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement natural resource management on Matador WMA and other WMAs.
• Provide technical assistance and public outreach to landowners and the public.
• Prepare technical reports and educational materials; conduct outreach events.
• Assist in constructing, maintaining, and repairing infrastructure and equipment.
• Comply with TPWD rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
