Job summary

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is inviting applications for a Wildlife Conservation Technician I for the Land & Water Access Division – Williamston Depot. The role involves habitat management, field surveys, and infrastructure upkeep on state lands and waterways in a 40-hour work week with occasional nights or weekends.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, assisting with boating access areas, and supporting research and survey efforts to aid long-term management

Qualifications

• Associate degree in wildlife, fisheries or construction management and two years of related experience.
• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license within 90 days of hire; CDL may be required for some positions.
• Possession of NC Pesticide Applicators license or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct habitat management, research, surveys on state lands.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment and vehicles used in field work.
• Maintain and renovate boating access areas, fishing areas and navigational aids.
• Support grants planning and office tasks within the division.
