Job summary

The NC Wildlife Resources Commission’s Land and Water Access Division seeks a Wildlife Conserv Technician I (S) to support game land programs, habitat restoration, and boating and fishing access site maintenance based at the Jordan Depot in Chatham County.

This position works outdoors in all weather, requiring operation of heavy equipment and occasional night/weekend shifts; candidates must have a valid NC driver’s license, with CDL and pesticide license as required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of experience managing wildlife or fisheries resources or operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Restore and improve habitats for endangered and game species.
• Provide hunting opportunities and manage wildlife openings.
• Maintain boating and public fishing access areas and navigation aids.
