East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Student Wildlife Field Technician to assist with field research and sample collections. Responsibilities include trapping and sampling small mammals, tick drags, and documenting samples following SOP.

This role offers up to 20 hours per week at $12.00 per hour, with on-site work and occasional evenings or weekends. Candidates must be enrolled in biological sciences with GPA 3.0 or higher and be able to work in varying terrains.

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered student pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Biological sciences or related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Willingness to work up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Adherence to laboratory and field safety procedures and Standards of Practice are essential.
  • Assist Field Technicians with trapping and sampling small mammals following IACUC protocols and the laboratories research methods.
  • Assist Field Technicians with tick drags to collect, identify and store samples.
  • Document all activities using electronic laboratory information system.
  • Input data into computer programs.
  • Assist with GIS mapping.
  • Learn how to analyze and interpret data.
