The role focuses on antigen-capture ELISA for CWD, tissue sample preparation, and LIMS-based case management, with opportunities to contribute to assay development and validation, including molecular methods such as RT-QuIC, under accreditation standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Experience in performing serology and molecular assays is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine diagnostic testing for chronic wasting disease (CWD) using antigen-capture ELISA.
  • Prepare fresh and fixed tissue samples and ensure quality assurance of results.
  • Use a computer-based LIMS for accessioning, results entry, and finalizing cases.
  • Develop, validate, and implement new diagnostic assays (e.g., RT-QuIC, PCR) as needed.
  • Maintain proficiency in CWD ELISA testing and comply with accreditation standards.
