A leading non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare is seeking a Seasonal Wildlife Care Technician in San Jose. Responsibilities include caring for wildlife, maintaining a clean environment, and providing support in a fast-paced setting. Ideal candidates will have a passion for animal rehabilitation and relevant experience in animal care.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Non-Union/ Full-Time/ Temporary (6 months)
Salary: $22.00/hr
Who we are: The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS/SPCA) is a local, private, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to animal welfare. It is our mission is to build healthy relationships between people and animals. PHS/SPCA is truly an open admission shelter, not only accepting many pet animals who might be refused at other shelters, but also taking care of injured and orphaned native wildlife. Weâ€re among just a handful of humane societies and SPCAs, worldwide, that extends its caring services to sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. Who you are: You have a passion for rehabilitating a variety of wildlife animals, ensuring that all wildlife in our care is provided the best possible care and attention. You thrive in a fast-paced work environment, performing all the necessary functions in maintaining the Wildlife Care Center in a thoroughly clean and sanitary manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists in training and supervising department volunteers. Brings any performance issue to managers.
