ICF’s Environment & Planning Division is seeking an experienced

  • Conduct presence-absence surveys for the Houston toad and other species based on USFWS survey protocols, including night listening surveys as conditions warrant.
  • Provide environmental monitoring services for construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Analyze and compile field data to prepare reports and support project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of biologists and other technical staff to advance sustainable, efficient, and lasting infrastructure solutions for local, state, federal, and private clients.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, project managers and field leads to deliver projects efficiently and ensure client success.

On-Call Field Biologist

Remote – Texas (Houston, San Antonio, Austin)

Role

ICF’s Environment & Planning Division is seeking an experienced On-Call Field Biologist, who is authorized to survey for the Houston toad through a USFWS endangered and threatened species recovery permit, to join our Texas-based team. In this part-time role, you will:

  • Conduct presence-absence surveys for the Houston toad and other species based on USFWS survey protocols, including night listening surveys as conditions warrant.
  • Provide environmental monitoring services for construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Analyze and compile field data to prepare reports and support project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of biologists and other technical staff to advance sustainable, efficient, and lasting infrastructure solutions for local, state, federal, and private clients.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, project managers and field leads to deliver projects efficiently and ensure client success.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or related discipline.
  • Must be authorized to survey for the Houston toad through a USFWS endangered and threatened species recovery permit.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

Preferred Qualifications And Attributes

  • Must be able to conduct field work in remote locations, at night, and be comfortable in the field environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in the field.
  • Candidates should be able to perform physically demanding tasks in various environments, including high temperatures.
  • Must be able to compose technical reports from the results of field investigations.
  • Recognizes importance of consistent procedures and protocols.
  • Texas-based candidates are highly preferred.
  • Computer skills should include the MS Office
  • Experience with GPS technologies
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$55,388.00 - $113,934.00
