Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, wildlife management or closely related field with two years of related experience.
  • Or high school diploma plus four years wildlife management experience; one year leadworker capacity.
  • Or one year as Wildlife Area Technician III in Nevada State service.
  • Prepare budgets and control expenditures; develop estimates of labor, materials, supplies and equipment; negotiate contracts and leases; complete reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee one or more wildlife management areas, planning and budgeting to ensure efficient operation.
  • Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment for habitat management.
  • Survey wildlife populations and monitor habitats; conduct field checks with hunters at check stations.
  • Develop and maintain budgets for Carson Lake WMA, Humboldt WMA and Fernley WMA.
  • Collaborate with government and non-government agencies and CABs on wildlife issues.
