Job summary

Texas A&M Forest Service seeks a Resource Specialist I to support wildland firefighting operations and emergency response across the state. The role includes attending required training, delivering agency programs to communities, and maintaining equipment readiness.

The position emphasizes professional conduct, and opportunities exist to assist with program delivery, training, and risk management across TAMFS initiatives and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 2-year natural resources-related technical degree.
• One or more years of general work experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as wildland firefighter and emergency responder statewide; operate heavy firefighting equipment and perform ground reconnaissance.
• Assist with delivery of Capacity Building programs to VFDs and municipal fire departments.
• Support delivery of programs by Regional Fire Coordinators and specialists; assist in data collection for Fire Risk Assessments.
• Maintain state vehicle and emergency equipment in readiness.
• Support Fire Emergency Response and related TAMFS programs as requested.
• Manage TAMFS credit cards in compliance with laws and policies.
