Job summary

Table Rock Fire Crew, a USFS/SCA partner program based near Clemson, SC, seeks a dynamic Field Leader for a 35-week season. Lead a two-leadership team in prescribed burning, fuels reduction, and wildfire response while navigating long days, travel, and rigorous training.

Strong teamwork, physical stamina, and the ability to mentor others are essential; 21+ years old, US work authorization, and valid driver's license required. Training and certifications will be provided as part of the program.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform manual, physical labor for up to 12 hours per day, exposed to the elements, and lifting 40+ pounds.
• Experience with youth or young adults; environmental education a plus.
• Conservation work skills or related skills such as wildland firefighting, trails, habitat work.
• Ability to pass the Work Capacity Test at the Arduous level.
• Crew Leader training attendance is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• US work authorization is required.
• Valid driver's license for 3+ years with acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field-based tasks under USFS supervision.
• Mentor team members and support personal and professional development.
• Coordinate logistics, documentation, and program administration.
• Lead fuels reduction, wildfire response and prescribed burning projects.
• Work variable hours including long days, weekends, and travel as needed.
